Braised cabbage with minced meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 head of savoy cabbage, approx. 1.2 kg or cabbage of your choice
  • 2 onions
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 1 tube(s) Tomato paste
  • ½ liter vegetable broth
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 4 tbsp crème fraîche
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Peel and finely dice the onions and garlic. Trim the savoy cabbage or cabbage of your choice and cut into bite-sized pieces. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the minced meat with the onions and garlic until crumbly. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Add the tomato paste and fry briefly. Then add the cabbage and fry for about 2 minutes. Deglaze with vegetable stock, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes. Season the braised cabbage with the sugar and, if desired, with more paprika, salt, and pepper. Serve with crème fraîche. Serve with rice, potatoes, or simply baguette.
