Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 750 g kale, cleaned
- 1 vegetable onion(s)
- 150 g bacon, streaky
- 50 g lard
- 2 garlic cloves
- Salt
- black pepper
- marjoram
- nutmeg
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 day 1 hour 15 minutes
Cut the kale into at least quarters and strip the leaves from the stems. Render the lard, add the kale, and fry. Dice the bacon medium-finely and fry. Then add the quartered onions and continue to sauté over low heat. Add the crushed and coarsely chopped garlic and the spices, cover, and sauté until tender. Season to taste. Ideally, prepare everything a day in advance; simply reheat later.
