Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 rolls
  • 50 g butter
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 2 tsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

This is a slightly older recipe from my great-grandmother

Cut the rolls into slices about 2 mm thick. Heat the milk and butter until boiling hot and pour over the rolls. Let stand for 1 hour. Stir in 2 eggs and 1 level teaspoon of baking powder. Season the mixture with salt. With wet hands, form the mixture into dumplings. Place in boiling salted water and let it simmer for about 20 minutes. The water should be stirring slightly.
