Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 tbsp oil or butter
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • possibly bacon, diced
  • 3 rolls, stale
  • 100 ml milk, hot
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Sauté the onions and bacon and let cool. Cut the bread rolls into cubes and pour the hot milk over them. Mix the eggs and seasonings well, pour over the bread roll mixture, and stir in. Let stand for 10 minutes. Then add the cold onion mixture and the parsley. Rinse cups or small casserole dishes with cold water (do not rub), form dumplings with wet hands (not too large ones), and place one dumpling in each cup. Microwave at 600 watts for about 4 minutes. Check that the dumpling mixture is cooked through on the inside (it should be dry); if not, microwave briefly again.
