Breaded smoked pork slices

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 slices of smoked pork loin, approx. 80 g each, boneless
  • pepper
  • some mustard, medium hot or horseradish, grated
  • Flour
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • breadcrumbs
  • Oil or clarified butter for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Kasseler prepared differently

Pat the smoked pork dry, season with pepper, and spread a thin layer of mustard or horseradish on both sides. Coat in flour, dip in the beaten egg, then roll in breadcrumbs, pressing lightly. Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels, if desired. Serve with potato salad (without mayonnaise), a green salad, or coleslaw.
