Breaded tofu schnitzel Viennese style

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g tofu, firm enough to slice
  • 1 egg(s)
  • some breadcrumbs
  • some spice mix for schnitzel
  • some rapeseed oil
  • some lemon(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cut the tofu into approximately 0.5 cm thick slices. Whisk the egg, add a little schnitzel seasoning, and mix. Coat the tofu slices first in the egg, then in the breadcrumbs. Heat a pan and add oil. Fry the breaded tofu slices in the pan until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the pan and drizzle with a little lemon juice. Serve with French fries, potato salad, and cucumber or mixed salad. Don’t forget the ketchup.
