Breakfast millet porridge with turmeric

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 160 g millet
  • 1 apple
  • 1 banana(s)
  • 30 g raisins
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 600 ml water

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Vegan and gluten-free, something different than porridge!

Cut the apple and banana into small pieces. Add the coconut oil to a pot and sizzle the apple pieces in the hot oil for 2 minutes. Add the turmeric and water, along with the millet, banana, and raisins. Bring to a boil and simmer with the lid on for about 15 minutes. Add a little more water if desired. Serve with flaxseed, chia seeds, soy or oat yogurt, puffed amaranth, cocoa nibs, fresh berries, or cinnamon. If you don’t like or tolerate raisins or bananas, simply omit them. The porridge will then be noticeably less sweet.
