Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 100 g butter
- 450 g flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cube of fresh yeast
- 40 g sugar
- 240 ml water, lukewarm
- Sesame seeds for sprinkling
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 25 minutes
Melt the butter in a saucepan or in the microwave. In a bowl, combine the flour and salt. Separate the eggs and mix the egg yolks with the yeast, sugar, butter, and warm water. Add this mixture to the bowl of flour and mix everything with the dough hook of a hand mixer until a smooth, sticky dough forms. Cover and let the dough rest for about 2 hours. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and dust with flour. Divide the dough into approximately 7 equal portions (about 7), dust each portion with flour, roll each portion into a smooth ball, and place it on the baking sheet. Run a tea towel under warm water, wring it out well, and then cover the dough pieces with it. Let the dough rest for another half hour. Brush the egg whites over the buns, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and place the sheet in the oven. Then bake the buns at 220°C top/bottom heat for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
