another recipe from my mother

Pour the liquid from the jar of broad beans into a saucepan and reserve the beans. Finely chop the savory. Dice the onion and add it with 1 tablespoon of savory. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered over low heat for 15 minutes. If too much has boiled away, add a little water. Stir in the sour cream, add the beans and continue to simmer gently. Finally, fold in the remaining savory and season with salt (smoked salt if desired) and pepper. You have to be careful with the salt, as the liquid from the jar of beans already contains salt. Thicken slightly if necessary and serve with boiled potatoes. For a non-vegetarian version, you can also cook something smoky with the sauce (smoked sausage, bacon, etc.). In this case, do not use hickory smoked salt.
