simple, delicious, spicy, low carb

Heat the oil in a pan, lightly fry the bacon cubes, then add 1 or more finely chopped onions, finely chopped chili peppers, and finally the finely chopped garlic in that order. Deglaze with a little milk. Add the cream cheese and tomato paste and mix. Add a little more milk if necessary. Add the broccoli. First the thinly sliced stalk, then the florets with the stem facing down. Season with salt and pepper. I like the broccoli firm to the bite, so cook gently with the lid on for about 5 minutes, or a little longer to taste. All sorts of variations are possible. A little more garlic, boiled or roasted potatoes, leftover peas from the day before or mushrooms, a few slices of zucchini—anything goes. And if you’ve run out of cream cheese, quark or cheese will do, too.
