Broccoli with garlic and lemon

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 head of broccoli, approx. 500 g
  • salt water
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 lemon(s), organic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, black from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Peel the garlic and finely dice it. Wash the lemon under hot water and grate the zest. Squeeze half of the lemon. Cut the broccoli into florets and blanch them in boiling salted water for 2 minutes. Drain in a colander. Heat the olive oil in another pan or wok and gently fry the garlic. Add the broccoli and toss in the garlic oil until it is cooked but still has a bit of bite. Finally, add the lemon zest and season with lemon juice, pepper, and salt to taste. Delicious as a side dish to fish or any type of meat.
