  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 g sugar (extra fine grain)
  • 60 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 hours; Total time approx. 10 hours 25 minutes

with cocoa powder

Gently melt the butter or margarine in a heavy saucepan, stir in the cocoa powder thoroughly, and set aside. Beat the eggs until frothy, gradually add the sugar, then stir in the chocolate mixture. Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt, sift over the chocolate mixture and fold in. If desired, also stir in the walnuts. Pour the batter into a prepared 20 cm loaf pan and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until it feels elastic when lightly pressed. Brownies need to be moist, so don’t overbake! Let the cake cool in the pan to keep it moist, then cut into square pieces.
