Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 5 tomatoes
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tbsp basil, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 slices of baguette
  • basil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Preheat the oven. Wash the tomatoes, drain, cut them crosswise, briefly place them in boiling water, and then rinse them in cold water. Then peel and remove the stem ends. Quarter the tomatoes, remove the seeds, and dice them. Peel and finely chop the garlic, then stir it into the diced tomatoes along with the basil and oil. Season with salt and pepper. Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven at about 220°C (preheated) with conventional heat or about 180°C (preheated) with conventional heat for about 5 minutes. Spread the tomato mixture over the baguette slices, garnish with basil leaves, and serve immediately.
