Bulgarian green beans with meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g beans, green, fresh (or 2 large cans)
  • 500 g beef or mutton
  • 500 g onion(s), sliced
  • ½ liter broth
  • 10 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, sweet
  • ½ bell pepper(s), green, cut into strips
  • ½ can/n tomatoes, peeled
  • lots of pepper, freshly ground
  • Salt, to taste
  • savory, to taste
  • 1 small can of tomato paste

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Brown the meat over high heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Layer the beans. Add the paprika, 1/2 bell pepper, savory, and garlic. Stir and simmer for a while. Add the remaining ingredients and cook for 1 to 1 1/4 hours, or 20 minutes in a pressure cooker. Season generously with salt and pepper. Serve with potatoes or mashed potatoes.
