Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potato(s), floury
  • 5 carrots
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 bunch lovage
  • 2 tbsp marjoram
  • n. B. water
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • possibly sausage (hunting sausage) or
  • sausages (Wiener)
  • 1 onion(s), if desired

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

with or without sausage filling

Peel and dice the potatoes and vegetables. Sauté the onion in a large pot with oil. Add the potatoes and carrots and pour in the water. Add the roughly chopped lovage and marjoram, season generously with salt and pepper, and simmer for 30 minutes. Drain the water and collect it in a saucepan. Mash or puree the potatoes thoroughly and return the liquid to the pan. If you like, you can now fry some Jagdwurst (sausage) with an onion and add it to the soup, or serve it with Vienna sausages. The soup is also delicious vegetarian and can be easily frozen in portions.
