Cabbage casserole

Spread the love

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 head of white cabbage
  • 2 onions, white
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 500 g minced meat
  • salt and pepper
  • n. B. water
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

An original recipe from my great-grandmother. It’s actually a soup.

Brown the onions and ground beef in a little oil (less, as the beef releases liquid) and a level teaspoon of salt (best in a pot rather than a pan, so there’s less washing up). Meanwhile, chop the cabbage and potatoes. When the onions are translucent and the beef is well cooked, add the potatoes and cabbage. Fill the pot with water, add 2 level teaspoons of salt, and about 1 level teaspoon of pepper. Then simmer on low heat for about an hour and a half. Stir occasionally and season with salt and pepper. Tastes even better the next day. Can also be frozen.
