Honey has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, antitoxic, and tonic properties, says the nutritionist.

“The trace elements of honey are in the most suitable form for assimilation by the human body. When choosing honey, give preference only to a certified product. Honey from northern bees is the most biologically active (due to the increased content of highly active enzymes),” she said.

Markova also considered it important to note the presence of contraindications for the use of honey. “These include carbohydrate restriction for the underlying disease, insulin resistance, and individual intolerance. I do not recommend replacing sugar with honey,” the expert summarized.
