You can eat oatmeal in the evening with a clear conscience. What’s more, eating oatmeal in the evening is even considered healthy. This is partly due to the fiber in the oats. They swell up in the stomach and keep you full for longer – which in turn prevents cravings. There are also proteins and other important nutrients. Accordingly, oatmeal is also suitable in the evening after sport. Particularly practical: They can be prepared sweet, for example with low-fat quark, honey, and cinnamon, or savory, for example with avocado. However, if you serve oatmeal in the evening, you should avoid fruit. Oatmeal in the evening: increase or decrease?
It is said that oatmeal can help you lose weight if it is put on the table in the evening. This is due, among other things, to their satiating effect due to the content of complex carbohydrates, fiber, and protein. Especially if you let them soak in water and enjoy them as porridge, the oats are very easy to digest and also contain fewer calories. By soaking – with both water and milk – you lower the phytic acid content of the flakes, thereby improving nutrient absorption. A porridge, therefore, helps you to fill up the nutrient storage, which should support the body during regeneration. Even muscle fibers and body cells supposedly form faster. Accordingly, muscle building should also benefit if you eat oatmeal in the evening. However, this has not been scientifically proven. There is also no evidence that you burn energy and thus boost fat burning. To what extent it can help to eat oatmeal in the evening to lose weight is controversial.
