Carbonara à la Uwe

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 pack of cooked ham, cut into small pieces
  • 1 pack of processed cheese with herbs
  • 1 pack of cream cheese spread
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp dried herbs (salad herbs)
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 pack of spaghetti
  • salt water
  • some olive oil
  • possibly milk for dilution

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

We love this version, even though it’s not a “real” carbonara because of the melted cheese.

Finely chop the onion and sauté in a little olive oil. Add the finely chopped ham and braise briefly. Add the two packages of processed cheese and the dried herbs. Now add the finely chopped fresh garlic. If it gets too thick, thin it out with a little milk. In the meantime, cook the spaghetti in salted water as usual. Drain the spaghetti, arrange it on a plate, and add the sauce. Garnish with some dried herbs. We love this version, even though the processed cheese makes it a bit less calorie-intensive, but it does mean you don’t have to use bacon.
