Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 5 cup(s) carrot(s), thinly sliced
  • Water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp Clarified butter or ghee
  • 1 banana(s), ripe
  • 3 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 4 carnations
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • possibly cornstarch

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Place the carrots in a pot with orange juice and salt and fill with water until the carrots are just covered. Boil gently for 5 minutes. Briefly roast the spices in ghee, then add the carrots with the liquid, the raisins, and the thinly sliced ​​banana. Simmer everything for about 30 minutes, thickening with cornstarch dissolved in water if desired.
