Because the beta-carotene (provitamin A) contained in abundance, as a precursor of vitamin A, actually contributes to the maintenance of normal vision, but cannot heal any eye diseases that are not caused by a vitamin A deficiency. Even if the effect of carrot juice is limited in this respect, it is worth reaching for the drink – ideally alternated with other vegetable juices, such as celery juice or tomato juice. You benefit from a wide range of nutrients and improve your vitamin balance.

Make your own carrot juice

Carrot juice tastes best fresh. However, it is not only worth making it yourself for reasons of taste. You then know exactly what’s in it and don’t have to worry about preservatives or added sugar. If you have a juicer or blender, the orange-colored vegetables are easy to process. Juice from the blender may have to be passed through a cloth to remove solid pieces. Drink it as soon as possible and store it in the fridge for a maximum of two days. If neither one nor the other kitchen appliance is available, you can also cook a carrot soup with ginger – it tastes very good warm, and cold.

Enjoy in moderation instead of drinking in bulk

Carrot juice contributes to a balanced diet, but you should not drink it by gallon every day. Otherwise, the skin may turn brown. If there is a permanent oversupply of beta-carotene, the body stops converting it into vitamin A and deposits the excess beta-carotene, among other things, under the skin, which then changes its color. If you notice such changes and want to get rid of them, just give up the carrot juice for a while and the color will go away. Liver damage, which is sometimes mentioned in connection with the consumption of carrot juice, is usually not to be feared with normal consumption of provitamin A-rich foods. However, they can occur when using dietary supplements.
