Carrots – Celery – Vegetables

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg carrot(s)
  • 1 large celeriac
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and coarsely grate the carrots and celery. Heat the butter in a large saucepan and add the carrots and celery. Add about 200 ml of water, add the sugar and a pinch of salt, and stir. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes over low heat, stirring once or twice. Season to taste with salt and pepper. If you don’t like it as sweet as we northerners, use less sugar. It also depends on the sweetness of the carrots. This vegetable goes well with meatballs (meatballs), bratwurst, fish, and fried eggs.
