Cashew – Onion – Rice

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 80 g cashew nuts, chopped
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 250 g Basmati, washed
  • 500 ml water
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

nice side dish to curry dishes or roast meat

Lightly brown the onions and nuts in hot oil. Add the cumin and turmeric and fry briefly. Add the rice, mix well, season with salt, and deglaze with the water. Bring to a boil. Simmer gently with the lid on for about 15 minutes until simmered. Add a little more water if necessary.
