Celery slices with feta cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 celeriac
  • 1 pack of sheep’s cheese, 200 g each
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 50 g butter
  • Salt and pepper, black, from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Peel the celery and cut into approximately 2 cm thick slices. (One celery root yields an average of 6-8 slices, depending on the thickness of the slices.) Cut the feta cheese into approximately 1 cm thick slices. Place the celery slices in a baking dish and brush with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Place a slice of feta cheese on each celery slice. Add butter or oil to the baking dish and cover with aluminum foil or the appropriate lid for the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for approximately 45 minutes.
