  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

fake “steak” made from celeriac, simple, vegetarian, delicious

Preheat oven to 200°C. Peel the celeriac and cut into 1.5 cm thick slices. This works best in a bread maker. Drizzle each slice with lemon juice (for antioxidant protection and a lemony flavor) and place one slice at a time in a circular, ovenproof dish, such as a soup bowl. The diameter of the dish should not be much larger than the diameter of the celery slices. Mix the cream with the spices to taste and pour over the mixture. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes. The cream will rise to the top and coat the celery slices. It will then almost completely evaporate, leaving a creamy texture. The celery slices will brown. They should still have a bite when cooked, but also be tender.
