Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp oil
  • ½ cup(s) water

Instructions

Indian flatbread

Put the flour and salt in a bowl. Add the oil and a little water, stir briefly. Gradually add the water and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover with a towel and let rest for 10 minutes. Divide the dough into 12 pieces. Sprinkle each piece of dough with flour and roll out into a circle about 8 cm in size. Heat the frying pan. Do not use oil. Fry each chapati in the pan for about 1 1/2 minutes on each side. Brush each chapati with oil or butter after frying. Stack on a plate and cover with a cloth until ready to serve. Chapatis are served with Indian food and are used rolled up like a spoon.
