Cheese balls

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 50 g butter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 g flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 150 g cheese, grated (Emmental)
  • 1 liter of oil for frying
  • 50 g almonds, sliced

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Boil 1/4 liter of water with butter and salt. Remove the pan from the heat. Pour in the flour all at once and stir until smooth. Return to the heat and stir over low heat until a ball forms. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the eggs and cheese one at a time. Heat the oil in a pan. Form small balls from the dough, roll them in the almonds, press down, and fry in the hot oil for about 4 minutes until golden brown. Tip: The cheese balls go very well with salads and with beer or wine, and are also delicious cold.
