Cheese fondue in a loaf of bread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g white bread
  • 3 packs of cream cheese spread
  • 100 ml whipped cream
  • 100 ml milk
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • g butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

First, cut off the top of the white bread. Then, using a knife, cut around a 2 cm thick edge around the inside and hollow it out. Brush the top, the bread, and the inside of the bread with butter and sprinkle with the very finely chopped garlic. Mix the cream cheese with the milk in a saucepan over moderate heat until smooth, then add the cream. The cream should be creamy and not too runny. You may need to add a little less cream, as different types of cream cheese have different consistencies (the best is the one wrapped in aluminum foil). Season to taste with salt and pepper and fill the hollowed-out loaf of bread. Place the top firmly on top and wrap the bread in aluminum foil. Wrap the inside of the bread in the same way, and bake everything in the oven at 200°C for 20-30 minutes. After baking, remove the top, cut the top and the inside into bite-sized pieces, and use them to dip the filling. The bread can then be eaten whole by cutting the edge vertically and then horizontally several times towards the end to create small pieces. The crust can also be eaten. It tastes delicious with a glass of red wine. It also makes a great variation with half cream cheese and half herb cheese (it has a nutty flavor).
