Cheeseburger and Mince Casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 600 g minced beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 1 onion(s), chopped
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tomato(s)
  • gherkins, Danish, from the jar
  • 1 pack of cheddar cheese
  • BBQ sauce or ketchup
  • possibly jalapeño(s), sliced
  • Bacon, sliced

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Cut the hot dog buns in half. Brush the bottom halves with BBQ sauce and place in a baking dish. Combine the ground beef, spices, onion, and crushed garlic clove and fry in a pan with oil until crumbly and brown. Spread over the bottom halves of the buns. Layer the sliced ​​tomatoes and cucumbers so they are on top of the bottom halves. Place the cheese slices tightly over the casserole. If you like, you can place jalapeños or bacon on top of the cheese. Preheat the oven to approximately 180°C (top/bottom heat). Place the casserole dish on the middle rack and bake for approximately 20 minutes. Spread the mustard on the top halves of the buns in the meantime and bake for another 5 minutes. Tip: You can also use hamburger buns. This casserole can be prepared in advance and baked later, which is ideal for a party.
