Chicken and broccoli casserole with cornflakes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g chicken breast
  • 200 g rice
  • 400 ml water
  • 500 g broccoli
  • 50 g butter
  • 40 g flour
  • 300 ml water
  • 300 ml milk
  • 2 tsp stock powder
  • 400 g processed cheese
  • 80 g cornflakes
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Pat the meat dry, chop it into small pieces, sear it, and season it. Cook the rice in 400 ml of water, chop the broccoli, and blanch it for two minutes. Melt 50 g of butter and sauté it with the flour. Stir the milk, water, broth, and cream cheese into the sauce, melt it, and season to taste. Mix the meat, rice, broccoli, and sauce in a casserole dish and sprinkle with cornflakes. Cook at 150 °C for 40 minutes.
