Chicken in Teriyaki Sauce

The perfect chicken in teriyaki sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 gr Chicken breast
  • 2 Pc. Leek
  • 100 ml Sake
  • 100 ml Mirin (sweet rice wine)
  • 100 ml Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Salt
  1. Cut the chicken breast into approx. 5mm thick slices
  1. Halve the leek lengthways and cut into 1cm wide slices
  1. Mix the sake with the mirin (sweet rice wine), the soy sauce and the sugar. Instead of the mirin, you can also take normal sake and add 2 tbsp. Mix the sugar.
  1. Fry the leek with oil in a wok while stirring for 2 – 3 minutes. Take out and put aside.
  1. Sear the chicken for 2 minutes while stirring. Then mix in the leek again.
  1. Then pour in the mixed sauce and let it boil down uncovered for about 5 minutes.
  1. Taste and season with salt if necessary
