Chicken in Teriyaki Sauce
The perfect chicken in teriyaki sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 600 gr Chicken breast
- 2 Pc. Leek
- 100 ml Sake
- 100 ml Mirin (sweet rice wine)
- 100 ml Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt
- Cut the chicken breast into approx. 5mm thick slices
- Halve the leek lengthways and cut into 1cm wide slices
- Mix the sake with the mirin (sweet rice wine), the soy sauce and the sugar. Instead of the mirin, you can also take normal sake and add 2 tbsp. Mix the sugar.
- Fry the leek with oil in a wok while stirring for 2 – 3 minutes. Take out and put aside.
- Sear the chicken for 2 minutes while stirring. Then mix in the leek again.
- Then pour in the mixed sauce and let it boil down uncovered for about 5 minutes.
- Taste and season with salt if necessary
