Chicken schnitzel in spicy tomato sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 3 chicken schnitzels or turkey schnitzels
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 ½ Ajvar, or tomato paste, or both
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 can of tomatoes, peeled
  • salt and pepper
  • Thyme
  • basil
  • oregano
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Wash the chicken cutlets, pat dry, and flatten. Dice the onion. Heat oil in a pan and fry the cutlets on both sides. Remove from the pan, season with salt and pepper. Sauté the diced onion in the frying fat. Add the paprika and sugar and mix. Deglaze with the peeled tomatoes and season with spices. Add the chicken cutlets to the sauce and simmer with the lid on for about 15 minutes.
