Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 850 g chicken schnitzel
  • 250 g Emmental cheese
  • 250 g smoked ham
  • 200 ml crème fraîche
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp, heaped Parmesan, freshly grated
  • salt and pepper
  • coriander

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Chicken schnitzel layered with cheese and smoked ham

Line a 30 cm loaf pan with parchment paper. Whisk the eggs with crème fraîche and Parmesan cheese and season. Rub the seasoning over the chicken cutlets. Layer the chicken, ham, cheese, and 2 tablespoons of egg whites each in the pan. Finish with the chicken cutlets and top with the remaining egg whites. Cover the pan with parchment paper and bake in the oven at 180°C for 50 minutes. Remove the parchment paper shortly before the end. Once cooled, turn out onto a serving platter and cut into thick slices. Serve with rice.
