Children's birthday chocolate cake à la Didi

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 50 g cocoa
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 m.-sized eggs
  • 250 g butter
  • e.g. milk
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • 1 bottle of butter-vanilla flavoring
  • 50 g chocolate shavings
  • 200 g white chocolate
  • 4 tube(s) sugar writing, blue, red, yellow and green
  • some food coloring, yellow
  • 1 bottle of sugar sprinkles

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Mix the flour with the baking powder and cocoa. Melt the butter. Mix the sugar with the vanilla sugar. Beat the eggs with the butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in the flour mixture a tablespoon at a time. Add the butter-vanilla flavoring, the vanilla paste, and a little milk, if desired. Spread the mixture onto the baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes at 160°C (convection oven) (use a toothpick to check if it’s cooked through). Let the cake cool slightly. Melt the white chocolate in a water bath and spread it thickly over the cake. Mix some white chocolate with the yellow food coloring. Write the text on the cake using the sugar lettering. Spread a bar of yellow chocolate on the cake and sprinkle with sugar sprinkles.
