Chili con Carne

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 onion(s), chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 g minced beef or mixed
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 125 ml red wine
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can of corn
  • 500 g tomatoes, pureed

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic. Add the minced meat and fry until crumbly. Stir in the tomato paste, chili powder, and cayenne pepper and fry briefly. Deglaze with red wine and reduce the heat to medium. Add salt and pepper to taste. Drain the kidney beans and corn well and stir in. Finally, stir in the passata, bring to a boil briefly, and let it simmer with the lid on and reduce the heat to low for 30 minutes. Freshly baked white bread tastes delicious with this dish.
