Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g bacon, streaky in thin slices
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 can of corn kernels (425 ml)
  • 2 cans of white beans in tomato sauce
  • 1 can of tomatoes (425 ml)
  • 200 ml broth
  • salt and pepper
  • paprika

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Baked Beans Lower Rhine

Cut the bacon into thin strips and sprinkle lightly with flour. Heat oil in a pan and fry the strips until crispy. Peel and dice the onion. Drain the corn well in a sieve. Fry the diced onion in the oil. Add the corn, beans, and tomatoes with the liquid to the pan. Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour in the broth, bring to a boil, and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
