Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g long grain rice
  • 400 g lean ground beef
  • Chinese spice
  • Pepper, white
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 500 g bell pepper(s), red
  • 400 g leek
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce, sweet

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Cook the rice in plenty of boiling salted water for 15-20 minutes. Drain. Meanwhile, season the minced meat with salt, Chinese spices, and pepper. Brown in the hot fat until crumbly, stirring occasionally with a wooden fork. Meanwhile, clean and wash the vegetables. Cut the bell peppers into thin strips and the leeks into thin rings. Mix with the minced meat. Add soy sauce and a pinch of pepper and simmer for about 7-8 minutes over medium heat. Finally, add the rice and heat through again. Tip: If you like, you can also serve soy sauce and sambal oelek (for added spice) separately.
