Chocolate Cake with Sour Cherries
The perfect chocolate cake with sour cherries recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Soft butter
- 5 Free range eggs
- 350 g Flour
- 200 g Sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 1 packet Baking powder
- 1 pinch Salt
- 5 tablespoon Milk 3.8
- 3 tablespoon Unsweetened cocoa
- 200 g Chocolate shavings dark
- 1 Glass Sour cherries 350 g drained weight
- Powdered sugar
- Pour the sour cherries into a sieve and allow to drain.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and the eggs until frothy. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir in two portions. Now stir in the milk and the chocolate. Add the chocolate shavings and fold in. Add the drained sour cherries and fold in carefully.
- Place the chocolate cake in the (convection) oven preheated to 175 degrees and bake for about 65 – 70 minutes. (Chopsticks sample) After the baking time, take it out of the oven, let it cool down in the tin for 20 minutes, remove the springform pan and let it cool down. Sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
