tender, tasty biscuits that melt in your mouth

This is a recipe based on traditional Chinese five-element cuisine. Each food is associated with one of the five elements, and the ingredients are added in a specific sequence, which, according to traditional Chinese medicine, is supposed to make the food more wholesome and easier to digest. Therefore, many of the spices in this recipe are very small, and can be omitted; in that case, the cookies are just normal. Combine all of the ingredients in the order above and knead into a dough. Only 70g of chocolate goes into the dough; the rest will be needed later. This dough should then rest in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours, or 24 hours is better; this will make it crumbly and tender. Form the dough into small balls, flatten them slightly on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, and press a few chocolate chips into each one. Bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes, until the cookies have taken on a nice brown color on top.
