Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g butter, soft
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • Flour for the work surface
  • e.g. chocolate, in pieces
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl. Add the softened butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and egg. Gradually add the milk until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface into a large circle, approximately 3-4 mm thick, and cut it into 8-12 triangles, similar to a pizza slice. Place a small spoonful of chocolate chips on the wide side of each triangle. Carefully roll the triangles from the wide side to the tip to create small croissant-like shapes. Place these croissant cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Whisk together the egg yolk and milk and brush the croissants with the mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 12-15 minutes, until lightly golden brown. Tips: These cookies can also be made without chocolate. Feel free to sprinkle with powdered sugar.
