Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 100 g chocolate
- 100 g butter
- 2 m.-sized eggs
- 150 g sugar
- 1 pinch of ground ginger
- 350 g flour
- Salt
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp, mixed baking powder, with saffron
- 175 g peanuts, unsalted, coarsely chopped
Instructions
Working time approx. 35 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Beat the eggs, sugar, and ginger until fluffy, then stir in the chocolate-butter mixture. Combine the flour, salt, cocoa, and baking powder, fold into the dough along with the peanuts, and let it rise for 10 minutes. On a floured surface, shape the dough into two logs, place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for 20-25 minutes. Then remove from the oven, let cool for 5 minutes, cut into 1.5cm-thick slices, return these to the baking sheet, and finish baking at 100°C for about 25 minutes.
