enough for about 90 pieces

Mix sugar, butter, vanilla sugar, egg yolks, flour, and baking powder into a dough. Let it rest in a cool place for about 1 hour. Then pass it through the cookie attachment of a meat grinder. Form into narrow strips about 1.5 cm wide and about 7 cm long. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with the ground nuts. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C until golden brown. Let cool. Then stick two cookies together with blackcurrant jelly. Melt chocolate coating or dark cake icing in a water bath. Dip the stuck-together cookies halfway into the melted chocolate coating and then let cool again. Tip: If desired, sprinkle some more ground nuts on top of the icing while it cools.
