Chopped bean soup

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 large onions
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 kg minced meat, half & half
  • 1 kg green beans
  • 8 thick potatoes
  • 1 small can of tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 packs of tomatoes, pureed, 500 g each
  • 1 liter of water
  • 3 stock cubes, each for 0.5 l stock
  • Salt
  • chili powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours

Sauté the onions until translucent and caramelize with the sugar. Then add the minced meat and fry until crumbly. Trim and chop the beans, peel and dice the potatoes, and add both to the onions and minced meat. Now add the tomatoes (peeled and pureed) with their juice and pour in water until the beans are lightly covered. Season with stock cube, chili, and salt, then simmer for about 1.5 hours.
