Recipe from mom

Combine the first 6 ingredients to form a shortcrust pastry, let it rest in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. Then knead it again on the work surface and divide it into smaller pieces. Flour the work surface, roll out the dough, and cut out cookie shapes. Place the “cookies” on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush with the beaten egg. Sprinkle with sugar, sprinkles, or chocolate sprinkles, if desired. Then bake them in the oven at 200°C for about 10 minutes until they are golden brown.
