Christmas Cookies: Cinnamon Hearts
The perfect christmas cookies: cinnamon hearts recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Pc. Egg separated
- 225 g Flour
- 160 g Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 3 tsp Cinammon
- 150 g Cold butter
- Mix the flour, salt, 100 g sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Add egg yolk, flaky butter and, if necessary, 1 tablespoon of cold water. First knead with the dough hook of the hand mixer, then quickly with your hands to form a smooth dough. Wrap in foil and put in the fridge for approx. 1 hour.
- Mix 60 g sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Roll out the dough thinly on a floured work surface, approx. 2 – 3 mm. Cut out hearts (approx. 6 cm in diameter) and place the cookies on baking sheets lined with baking paper. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake the trays one after the other in the preheated oven at 200 degrees (or convection oven 175 degrees) on the middle rack for about 8-10 minutes. Take out and place on a wire rack with the baking paper to cool down.
