Ingredients for 20 servings:

  • 100 g butter
  • 60 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • ½ tsp ammonium bicarbonate
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 50 g almonds, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Cream the butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt until fluffy. Beat in the egg. Add the baking powder, cinnamon, vanilla sugar, and flour and stir in. Chill the dough for about 1 hour. Mix the chopped almonds, sugar, and a pinch of cinnamon, then whisk the egg. Roll out the chilled dough between cling film to a thickness of about 3 mm and cut out stars and shooting stars. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving enough space between them. Brush the cookies with the beaten egg and sprinkle with the sugar, cinnamon, and almond mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes (electric oven: 180°C, fan: 160°C, gas mark 3). Let the cookies cool.
