Cinnamon stars, delicate

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 180 g sugar
  • 350 g butter or margarine
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • some rum flavor
  • some lemon peel, grated
  • n. B. Cinnamon – sugar for rolling

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 8 minutes

Cream the butter with egg yolks and sugar until fluffy. Add the sifted spices and flour, knead into a smooth dough, and chill for 1 hour. Then roll out the dough as thinly as possible and cut out stars. It’s a bit of work, but the thinner the stars, the more tender they will be when melted in your mouth! Then bake at 180°C until light golden (depending on how thin the cookies are, about 5-8 minutes). While the stars are still hot, roll them in cinnamon and sugar. Be VERY careful when doing this. The hot stars break easily.
