Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 750 g cherries or any berries
- 120 g sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 250 ml milk
- 100 g flour
- 1 pinch of salt
- Butter and flour for the casserole dish
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Wash the fruit and remove the seeds, if necessary (frozen fruit is also fine). Mix 90g of sugar with a pinch of salt, add the eggs, and beat until the mixture turns whitish. Slowly add the milk, continuing to beat. Add the sifted flour and mix until a smooth, even batter forms. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 220°C (top/bottom heat). Butter and flour a baking dish. Spread the fruit in the dish. Pour the batter over it and bake the casserole for 35 minutes. After baking, let it cool, sprinkle with the remaining sugar, and enjoy! If desired, you can also add a splash of rum to the batter. It tastes especially good with vanilla ice cream or vanilla sauce.
