Classic Caesar Salad

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of white bread
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 romaine lettuce hearts
  • 25 g Parmesan
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 25 g Parmesan, grated
  • 2 tsp capers
  • ½ tsp mustard
  • 1 dashes Tabasco
  • ½ lemon(s), the juice
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 150 ml olive oil
  • some pepper, black

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Remove the crust from the bread and cut into 1 cm cubes. Heat the oil in a pan and toast the bread cubes until golden brown. Tear the lettuce hearts into bite-sized pieces and wash them. Grate the Parmesan cheese into shavings. For the dressing, boil the egg for 1 1/2 minutes, then rinse briefly and peel it. Beat the egg with the remaining dressing ingredients in a blender until smooth. Combine the shredded lettuce and the toasted bread in a bowl. Drizzle evenly with the dressing. Sprinkle with Parmesan shavings to serve. Serve with warm bread from the oven.
