Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 50 ml whole milk
  • 150 ml water
  • 25 g oat flakes, fine
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp natural yogurt
  • 2 tsp honey, liquid

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

served with yogurt and honey

Place the milk and water in a small saucepan on the stove. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Add the oats to the liquid, reduce the heat, and simmer gently for about 10 minutes, until the mixture is just boiling. Stir frequently with a wooden spoon to prevent it from burning. Then add the salt, stir well, and simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove from the heat, put the lid on the pan, and let the mixture sit for 5 minutes. Pour the porridge into a bowl and serve warm with yogurt and honey. If you prefer a more traditional approach, you can also cook the porridge with just 200 ml of water and then pour the cold milk over it later. If you prefer a fruitier twist, you can cook three finely chopped prunes from the start.
